On Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th April, Devon Cream Company was delighted to celebrate British heritage and tradition during a Real Clotted Cream Weekend hosted at Tea At The White House in Waterdown, Ontario.
Timed to coincide with Queen’s centenary celebrations, the weekend was dedicated to celebrating one of Britain’s most cherished traditions – afternoon tea – and educating guests on the essential role clotted cream plays in a truly authentic experience.
Throughout the weekend, visitors were invited to discover the heritage, craftsmanship and tradition behind real clotted cream. A dedicated sampling station allowed guests to enjoy Devon Cream Company’s clotted cream served the traditional way, generously dolloped onto freshly baked scones, alongside Tea At The White House’s homemade jams.
Adding an extra element of fun, attendees were invited to take part in a spin‑and‑win wheel, where they had the chance to win a selection of Devon Cream Company goodies. To make the occasion even more special, guests could also enter a luxury hamper giveaway, celebrating British tea‑time indulgence and offering one lucky winner a taste of the experience to enjoy at home.
Complementing the cream tea experience, Tea At The White House hosted a tea sampling station, showcasing some of their most popular blends. Guests were encouraged to explore how different teas pair with scones, jam and clotted cream.
The weekend was a celebration not only of flavour, but of British culture, heritage and hospitality. It was a pleasure to see so many guests engage with the story behind clotted cream and experience first‑hand why it remains a cornerstone of a classic afternoon tea.
We’d like to thank Tea At The White House for being such wonderful hosts, and everyone who joined us to celebrate a timeless British tradition in the heart of Ontario.
