England invented Cheddar in the 15th Century in the area of Cheddar Gorge in Somerset. It was a favourite of Queen Elizabeth 1st and one of the gastronomic delights of court life, often in short supply, and as one courtier put it cheddars are “bespoken before they are made”.
The recipe was later taken to the USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and anywhere that the English emigrated to. Even Ben Gunn, a pirate in Robert Louis Stevensons Treasure Island used to dream of “cheddar cheese-toaster mostly”.

Paprika is a spice which comes from a mild red pepper, it is a brilliant red powder and often used as an accompainment to a dish.
We have blended mild Paprika with smoke flavoured cheese to create a wonderfully rich and smooth flavour that will warm your tastebuds.
This cheese is best served grated over roasting potatoes or vegetables or simply melted on toast.

Glastonbury is a flavoursome fresh Raw Milk Cheddar, carefully and lovingly handmade in cloth bound traditional cylinders then matured for over 12 months by Richard the cheesemaker. The farm has a closed herd and only its own milk is used for cheesemaking in the dairy. A new pack size of 2×1.5kg in a novel pack will shortly be available.
The dairy is situated in the historic and mystical town of Glastonbury, better known as the burial site of King Arthur and Guinevere.
The cows graze on the fresh flat Summerland meadows below Glastonbury Tor, the ancient remains of Gwyn Nudd’s neolithic labryinth, the Lord of the Underworld.
The natural clean flavour of this Raw Milk Cheddar will take your tastebuds to a time when fairies and witches roamed the meadows in search of everlasting life, I wonder if they ever found it……….
