    A traditional English cream tea

The main use is for the famous Devon and Cornish cream teas, which comprise hot tea, scones, strawberry jam and of course cream.

The jam is spread onto the scones and topped with a good spoonful of thick cream.

Most tea houses, hotels and pubs serve cream teas during the summer months and enjoying a cream tea has become a popular tourist attraction.

The next most famous cream is thick Double Devon Cream which is a fresh pasteurised cream of 48% milk fat with a distinctive flavour (Clotted cream has a 55% milk fat). Double Devon Cream originated after World War II, because the only cream then available with a long shelf life was tined sterilised cream with a poor flavour.
